Atlanta Regional Airport

Atlanta Regional Airport〔 , also known as Falcon Field, is a public use airport in Fayette County, Georgia, United States.〔 It is located 25 nautical miles (29 mi, 46 km) southwest of the central business district of Atlanta,〔 in Peachtree City.〔 This airport is included in the National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems for 2011–2015, which categorized it as a ''general aviation'' facility.〔


Owned by Peachtree City Airport Authority,〔 it was formerly known as Peachtree City Airport or Peachtree City - Falcon Field Airporty. Falcon Field was named by the first city clerk, Emelil Fancher in honor of the Atlanta Falcons. It is the location for the National Weather Service's Atlanta forecast office, which serves almost all of northern and central Georgia.
Although most U.S. airports use the same three-letter location identifier for the FAA and IATA, Falcon Field is assigned FFC by the FAA but has no designation from the IATA.〔(【引用サイトリンク】 Atlanta Regional Falcon Field (ICAO: KFFC, FAA: FFC, IATA: none) )
== Facilities and aircraft ==
Atlanta Regional Airport covers an area of 350 acres (142 ha) at an elevation of 808 feet (246 m) above mean sea level. It has one runway designated 13/31 with an asphalt surface measuring 5,219 by 100 feet (1,591 x 30 m).〔
For the 12-month period ending June 7, 2011, the airport had 75,000 aircraft operations, an average of 205 per day: 99% general aviation and 1% military. At that time there were 144 aircraft based at this airport: 74% single-engine, 22% multi-engine, 1% jet, and 3% helicopter.〔
Businesses located on-field include:
* (Aircraft Spruce & Specialty Co. ), a large distributor of everything from hardware to pilot supplies, is located adjacent to the Falcon Field airport in a facility. Moving to this new location in 2003, they previously resided in Griffin, GA. Though mostly a mail-order business, they also operate a retail store within this facility.
* (Gardner Aviation ) provides avionics and instrument sales, installation and repair, aviation maintenance, as well as Phase A,B, & C inspections of aircraft., located at the South side of the airfield. They re-located to Falcon Field from the Griffin Spalding Airport in 2003. Gardner Aviation is a privately owned company.
* (Georgia Aircraft Interiors ) provides custom aircraft interiors for a wide spectrum of aircraft.
* (Falcon Aviation Academy ) is a flight center with a fleet of over thirty Diamond aircraft, including the DA-20 Eclipse, DA-40 Star, and DA-42 Twin Star based between 3 locations (KFFC, KCCO, KAHN). The Academy includes aircraft equipped with Garmin G-1000 avionics. Multiple training programs are available from Private Pilot through Certified Flight Instructor with an opportunity for employment upon program completion. * (Affordable Charters of Excellence ) is located on-field and provides Part 135/Air Charter service anywhere in the continental US.
* The Commemorative Air Force (Dixie Wing ) owns a hangar on the north side of the airport, where it bases several WWII-vintage aircraft. The Dixie Wing is also responsible for The Great Georgia Airshow that is put on every year.
* Falcon Field is also home to the annual (Great Georgia Airshow ).
